There are many different reasons why you may be searching for a new dentist. Maybe you’ve recently moved to the area, or you aren’t happy with your current dentist, or maybe you just haven’t been to the dentist since you were a child. Whatever the reason, we want to help you know what to look for when choosing a reputable dentist.

The location of the dentist may be important to you.

While we have many patients who travel afar to come to our office, you may want a dentist that is close to your home, work, or where your children go to school.  You want to make sure that wherever your dentist is location, you will be able to visit them at least twice a year. Our office is conveniently located in Manchester, MO at the intersection of Sulphur Springs and Big Bend.

What do people have to say about the dentist?

It is very important to ask around and look at the reviews of the dentist you are considering. Ask people in your area who they visit and what they think. Check Facebook, Yelp, and Google reviews.

Please consider quality over cost.

While cost is a very important factor in choosing your dentist, the last thing you want to do is jeopardize the quality of your dental work. In dentistry, you truly get what you pay for and you deserve to invest in treatment that is going to last a lifetime, not just a few years. To know why Dr. Stanford has decided to stay out-of-network for most insurance companies please read our FAQ:

Important questions to ask the dental practice before scheduling:

  • Do you perio chart and record those numbers at least once per year?
  • Do you use lasers?
  • Does the doctor AND hygienists wear loops during their appointments?
  • Do all new patients receive a Full Mouth X-ray at your practice?

If they answered no to any of these questions, you may want to continue your search. If you want to know why these questions are so important please call our office at 636-256-3559.

How comfortable are you with the staff and the dentist?

Bed-side manner is extremely important in our field. Going to the dentist can be a very vulnerable and sometimes scary experience for many. It is important that you feel comfortable with the doctor and his team. You should feel more relaxed in their presence verse the opposite.
